Evinrude-Johnson F1-V8 drivers.

From our FaceBook page Evinrude – Johnson outboards. Facts, history, racing and OMC.

We all know about the first and only Evinrude-Johnson F1-V8 3.5 Liter 2 stroke looper engine from OMC. This powerful, (still fastest in the world) race engine was used all over the world from early 1981 to late 1989. What we don’t know are all the drivers around the world who had the honor to race this beauty.I am starting with the first five in Brodenbach, Germany in June 1981. (First ever F1-V8 race)

Please enter names as a comment and I will move the names up here later.

F1-V8 racing in Minneapolis 1984

Published by:

Looking at all the pictures from Minneapolis F1-V8 race 1984 and also looking/reading the full Powerboat & Waterskiing report from both Minneapolis & Pittsburgh with the headline..

“The Bud Light Formula One Grand Prix Series of six American events was already well under way, when Europeans joined their American competitors in Minneapolis for the second year running”
..the report is coming later and you can clearly read a lot interesting “engine stuff”
This race was the first one after Stockholm GP and OMC asked me to please send your #8 boat with us to the two US races.
I told them No thanks..I needed a break from racing for many reasons.
First picture is #1 Cees Van Der Velden in his 1984 Velden boat. (in my opinion way better looking)
#97 Tom Posey is driving the 1983 style Velden boat.
Thanks Paul Hoppe

#45 is Bob Hering.

Not sure who #36 is..??

More is coming soon..!!
