Lennart Strom raced the UIM F3 class extremely successfully for many years. Lennart won the F3 World series title four times.

1985-86-88 and 1990.

All World Champion titles was with a Burgess boat (race #21) powered by the very best Evinrude CC 1985 & -86 and 1988 & 1990 using the later FR 31M Evinrude.

A pretty hard record to beat.

This is the #21 Burgess/Mecman/Evinrude CC Lennart drove to his first World title 1985.

More Molinari/Volvo Penta/König racing 1977.

I received for me three very interesting pictures last week by FB Messenger. All three are from 1977 when I raced the Molinari/Volvo Penta-Konig.
The two first pictures are from Alex in Holland. Thank you.
He took the first two picture as a young boy at an international race in Groningen, Holland.
I drove my UIM OE class #40 Molinari/VPK to victory. Ahead of Paul Kalb’s OMC factory drivers and Mercury racers.
So happy for the Groningen pictures.

The third picture below is from Oliver. (Thank you)
The picture show Joackim Mareth and me talking in the pit at the Gatow, West-Berlin race.
A few weeks later Joackim Mareth and I raced the Paris 6 Hours together in the #40 Molinari/VPK
Joackim is Dieter Konigs sister son. A great friend and boat racer.

The OMC FR 31M F3 race engine – 1988

My brother Lennart Ström raced/tested the first new F3 engine in Martinique late 1987/early 1988. There was some issues OMC corrected and this is/was an extremely good engine used in UIM F3 racing for many years.
One picture is from Martinique and my brother Lennart in front (to the right) of his red Burgess boat with the first brand new FR 31M / F3 engine. Leo Molendijk is also in the picture.

More from Martinique below. Lennart Strom, Leo Molendijk from OMC and Olle Magnusson. Lennarts red Burgess boat with the first brand new FR 31M / F3 engine being tested under race condions.
