Pål Virik Nilsen has signed a seat in Formula 1

Racing driver Pål Virik Nilsen has signed a seat in Formula 1 with team Azerbaijan (former Team Sweden) as their 2nd driver in a Danish Mølgaard outfit. The experienced driver look forward to the challenge in the new class and not least to get more competitive racing. Pal has in the past seven seasons of his 20-year long career been throttleman in Offshore Class 1. Now it was time to have a change but he holds the possiblilty open to running both F1, C1 and F2 this season. The first race is already June 2 in the Brazilian capital Brasilia.

Formula 1 or F1H2O as it is popularly called is now arguably the top shelf in boating now says Pal. I saw my first Formula 1 race in Cardiff, Wales in the early 90th century. Since then I have been keen to test the series. Now that the offer came from Azerbaijan team the choice was easy. I am humbled by the task but enters with small ambitions, but when the helmet comes on and start going i’m a fighter as always.
I also know my new team mate Swedish Jonas Andersson well from our early years of racing so it will be really fun to get started. He is a great talent with race wins in the past so i hope to learn a bit in Brazil.

The first races is all about learning the team, boat, class and all involved. The boat is faster but quite similar to Formula 2 boats which i also run. Therefore, i think the transition will go smoothly.

The question is should I bring my new red toy to LOTO or leave it in Florida??
Carina do not want to drive the other car by herself so I guess the Corvette must stay..
