  • A new Offshore 3 C race boat by Altman Marine.

    Nice the see a brand new race boat slowly being built. (Picture in mixed order)

    The boat is 7.10 x 2.49 meters.
    Built in carbon fiber-epoxy, but is available in “ordinary plastic”
    The first one is sold to France and will be delivered late January 2013.
    The weight empty in carbon fiber-epoxy is below 400 kg so you can ballast.

    Offshore Super Series Boat Races to return thrills to Lake of the Ozarks 2013
     
    LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – The Offshore Super Series is returning to the No. 1 powerboating destination in the Midwest. The boat race that mesmerized fans from 2007-09 at the 7-mile marker will now roar past flotillas from Bagnell Dam to the 4MM. The three-day Lake of the Ozarks Invitational Offshore Super Series Race will hit the Strip Friday-Sunday, June 7-9, 2013.

  • BRP stop selling the Evinrude E-Tec 115 H.O. / 130 in the USA..!!

    The 115 H.O. and the 130 is going to be replaced by a 135 V-6.. 2.6 liter in the USA 2013.
    If I understand this sad news right is because of new EPA rules.
    I have been told that the two popular V4 engines is going to be available for sale in Europe 2013.

  • Bob Spalding

    Bob was a true gentleman and very successful in powerboat racing..Won Bristol, Paris and F1-V8 Champ 1985..and much more..

    I remember that day in Seville, Spain 1985 like yesterday.
    Bob was already the F1-V8 World Champion before the last race of the year in Seville.
    I was standing in the pit together with my brother Lennart watching Bob testing.
    He crashed in the turn in front of us.  The Hodges F1 boat was upside down way to long  before the rescue team got Bob out.

    Bob’s career was cut short by this racing accident, after which it was discovered he had an aneurysm.

    Bob passed away in 1997.

  • Today is the Swedish Powerboat Federations annual meeting in Uppsala just north of Stockholm

    It has been a very good year for Swedish power boat racing.
    Lots of  World Championship gold  in many classes and a few World Records.
