    Interesting thread at Boatracingfacts.

    Several people have asked for advice on obtaining a sponsor. In 2011, my team landed 8 sponsors with 3 of them being major cash paying sponsorships for the season. All returning for 2012.

  • Scott Gillman returns to the race track

    In a few days time, Abu Dhabi Team Manager Scott Gillman will get behind the wheel of his new X Cat for the start of the 2012 season.

    Like his arch rival Guido Cappellin who races Class 1 offshore, Scott is turning his

    attention to the exciting X Cat offshore championship

    but he has rigged the boat up so that he drives and throttles the boat himself.

    His co-pilot in the opening race is an Italian known only as Stefano who Scott says is

    just coming along for the ride.

    Gillman proved he has lost none of his racing skills as, when standing in for the banned

    Al Hameli in Kazan during the 2011 World F1 season,

    Gillman finished a very respectable 4th after being out of action for over two years.

    It will be interesting to see how he fares against none other than Ahmed Al Hameli

    who not only races X Cats but also build them.

    Scott’s boat will run under the Abu Dhabi banner.
