The most interesting tunnel boat racer ever.

Published by:

Cees van der Velden in Boretto, Italy 1975.
Boat #139 is Cees in his “Cessenari” Johnson V6 2 liter crashing out in the European Championship race.
Cees was in my opinion the most interesting tunnel boat racer ever. You never know what was going to happen when he was racing.
Little bit of an underdog to Renato Molinari and Billy Seebold but a fighter like no one else.
Thanks for pictures and info Roberto Bigi – Marasi Giuliano

More Cees van der Velden.
This is from Drammen GP, Norway 1980. I think Cees is talking to the Champion Spark Plug representative from Belgium. I do not remember his name.
Thanks Roberto Bigi for excellent pictures.

A life time Paris Six Hour boat racing memory

Published by:

I just received this picture from  Roberto Bigi and it made me very happy. (Thank you)
It is from Paris Six Hours 1974 and show my favorite racing buddy and me.
Angelo Vassena of Italy is driving his #71 Clerici/Carniti around one of the two turning buoys in the six hour race on river Seine next to the Eiffel tower
My #48 yellow Clerici/Evinrude on the inside.
Well..four years later (1978) Angelo and I drove one of two F1-OZ class Molinari/Saffa/Evinrude V6 boats for Renato Molinari in the world famous race and ended up fourth overall.
