F1H2O World Championship
Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi – 29/30 November 2012

ABU DHABI – Tuesday, November 20, 2012 – It what maybe the worst kept secret of the 2012 UIM F1 H2O World Championship season, Jay Price, the winningest driver on the tour in the last five years and 2008 World Champion is returning to the series.

The American from New Orleans, Louisiana will be driving for the Skydive Dubai Team for the final two rounds of the year at the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi on the 28th thru the 30th of November and a week later at the Grand Prix of Sharjah on the fifth thru the seventh of December.

Jay, who entered his first race in the F1 H2O series ten years ago in Abu Dhabi in 2002, had raced full time on the circuit since 2006 spending most of that time with the Qatar Team winning them a title in 2008. He was in that same position a year ago before falling short, crashing out with his teammate Alex Carella on the opening lap handing the Italian his first championship and later resigning from the team in December of 2011.

“It’s great to be back in F1 and the wonderful people from Skydive Dubai have given me an opportunity to put on a show with a good BABA boat to go with the program,” said Price. “I have a great crew of professionals that I’ve known and trusted for years backing me up and it should be a wonderful pair of weekends and I’m truly looking forward to the experience.”

Jay has put together a true “Super Team” around him with a Canadian-American (Can-Am) flavor too it as well. Starting with engine builder extraordinaire Dr. Alex Hledin of Quebec who has been the cornerstone to numerous world titles recently in the F1 H2O series.

Joining him will be Ted Gryguc of Ontario, Canada who is a 25 year racing veteran and eight time Canadian Point Champion. Ted is also the World Title holder in Mod-VP class back in 1991 and raced F1 in North America until his retirement in 2000. Ted is back once again with Jay having worked with him in the Qatar Team. He brings along his talented and dedicated sons who have helped make Speedmaster Marine a leader in high performance racing in North America.

In the last five years since Jay won his 2008 World Championship title, he has won 11 times in just 52 starts. He is sixth all-time for victories in the history of the sport. Jay has won 21% of his races he’s started and has reached the podium in first or second place in a remarkable 21 of the last 25 races he’s finished.

The Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi will take place on Friday, the 30th of November with the Grand Prix starting at 15:30 local time (11:30 GMT) and 06:30 on the East Coast of North America. Qualifying will take place on Thursday, the 29th at 15:00 local time (11:00 GMT) and 06:00 EST in North America.

Every exciting moment of both qualifying and the Grand Prix can be watched live via the live World Television feed by going to the tours official website at www.f1h2o.com.

.
Vila i frid Kjell
