UIM OE class racing 1975.
I found this German article from the European championship race in Brodenbach.
WOW..memories are flying..In May we raced the World title in Aix-les-Bain, France and Roger Jenkins won (defended his 1974 title) in his #1 Burgess/Johnson.
(See smaller article)..we both used a very powerful OMC race engine but my Burgess was 4 inch shallow in the tunnel instead of Jenkins 6 inch. Paul Kalb ordered my Burgess this way. Very fast but impossible the race. ( I crashed bad at the OMC in early May and the boat was repaired for Brodenbach.
Rain and strong wind/waves ruin our weekend in Brodenbach.
Both Roger and me broke down. I now see I ended up 10th.
Hans-Georg Krage did a great race and won in is hydro.

Pretty sure this picture below is  of the two OMC real UIM OE/APBA Mod 50 class race engines in Europe 1975.
Jenkins raced one and I the other one. We could only use them at a few races.
This picture is from Cardiff 1975 and its not a production mid section. This mid section used a racing gear-case without shifting.

Extremely sad news from Sweden today. Kenty Sjöholm have passed away.

Kenty was by far the most colorful boat racer Sweden ever had. He was the man that got me involved in boat racing. I was also his co-pilot in Lidingöloppet Offshore Race 1971 in the Piraya 16 /Carniti 65HP. We where the first E-Class boat to the checkered flag but got disqualified for a wrong turn.
I worked for Kenty at Mercury Service located at Brännkyragatan in Stockholm for a few years.
Well, also at Stäkets Marina north of Stockholm with Pelle Larsson.
Kenty was everybody’s friend and no one was better getting young drivers in to boat racing than Kenty.
Lots of fun memories getting the right help from Kenty building my Piraya race boats in Gröndal, Stockholm.
It’s a very sad day for Swedish Boat Racing and Kenty’s family but all the fun and great memories put a smile on my face writing this with tears on my cheeks.
I visited Kenty at his Ingarö location last time I was back in Sweden. He was as always fun and lots of laughs at our lunch together.
Kenty, you will always be missed and I am forever grateful for all our time together.
A mix of pictures from my visit to Kenty.

You can easily see how proud Kenty is over his daughter “Bimba” Sjöholm
